Multiphoton interaction phase shifts in attosecond science

چکیده

Ab initio simulations of a range interferometric experiments are used to identify strong dependence on multiphoton phase shifts in above-threshold ionization. A simple rule thumb for interaction is derived explain both the conservation photoelectron yield and its absolute CEP-dependence. For instance, it found that ionization shifted by $\pi/4$ relative RABBIT experiments, there no RABBIT-term laser-assisted photoionization experiment with odd even harmonics. Thus, our work helps resolve issues interpretation quantum dynamics attosecond free-electron laser sciences.

Attosecond science

Scientists have been developing sources of light with ever-shorter pulse durations, in order to study motion in systems ranging from a golfer’s swing to the motion of atoms within molecules. The shortest pulses produced to date are under 60 attoseconds, i.e. 60 × 10−18 s. One attosecond is to one second as one second is to the age of the universe. For comparison, the classical orbital period of...

Advances in attosecond science

Attosecond science offers formidable tools for the investigation of electronic processes at the heart of important physical processes in atomic, molecular and solid-state physics. In the last 15 years impressive advances have been obtained from both the experimental and theoretical points of view. Attosecond pulses, in the form of isolated pulses or of trains of pulses, are now routinely availa...

Attosecond and Angstrom Science

When a strong laser field ionizes atoms (or molecules), the electron wave packet that tunnels from the molecule moves under the influence of the strong field and can re-collide with its parent ion. The maximum re-collision electron kinetic energy depends on the laser wavelength. Timed by the laser field oscillations, the re-colliding electron interferes with the bound state wave function from w...

Phase shifts due to atom-surface interaction

Several atom optics experiments have studied how atom-surface interactions affect the propagation of atom waves. However, none of these experiments directly measure the phase shift of atom waves due to interaction with a surface. For example, experiments with atoms transmitted through a cavity [1, 2], atoms diffracted from a material grating [3–6], atoms reflecting from surfaces [7– 10], atoms ...

Attosecond probing of instantaneous ac Stark shifts in helium atoms

Based on the numerical solutions of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation within the single-active-electron approximation, we propose a method for observing instantaneous atomic level shifts in an oscillating strong infrared (IR) field with sub-IR-cycle time resolution, by using a single tunable attosecond (SA) pulse to probe excited states of the perturbed atom. The ionization probability in...
